Documents Required For Ejari Registration

Ejari is a tenancy contract in Dubai and the term Ejari means “my rent” in the Arabic language. If you are new to Dubai and want to rent an apartment, then this article is for you. Here you will be provided with all the details regarding the Ejari registration, documents required in this process, etc.

The Responsibility Of Registering An Ejari

The responsibility to register Ejari lies on the tenant only. The situations where landlords register Ejari are very less and almost negligible too. So for most of the time, it is the responsibility of tenants and even the real estate agents will take care of it sometimes.

Where Should I Register for Ejari?

You can contact any Ejari office space in Dubai, typing centres for the registration. If you have all the documents required, you can even register through Ejari online portal. The entire process of registration is very simple and it takes almost 15-20 minutes of time. The most important thing that you have to remember if you are registering through offline is to register only at the approved typing centres. This approved typing centres list is provided on the Ejari official website. So make sure to register there only.

Documents Required for Registration

It is important to have both hard and soft copies of the documents. Maintain the adequate copies of the documents with you while you go to the business centre Ejari. Documents those are mandatory for the registration

  • Tenancy contract
  • The receipt of the security deposit
  • Tenant’s Visa
  • Tenant’s Passport
  • Tenant’s Emirates ID
  • DEWA registration or receipt copy for the new tenancies
  • Copy of the title deeds of the property that has been rented
  • Trade license of the company
  • DEWA premises number

There are the required documents for registration. Make sure to carry all of them with you when you are going to the typing centre. Having the soft copies of these documents is better.

Registration Fee for Ejari

The registration fee for Ejari is AED 585 if it is done offline. If you want to register online, then the registration fee is AED 195. The difference between offline and online registration is because of the easiness. Online registration can be done from anywhere at any time but offline registration has some rules that must be followed and timings too.

After the completion of the registration process, you will be provided with a receipt and Ejari certificate. This Ejari certificate will have the entire details of your tenancy and the rules and regulations that must be abided by you. The Ejari must be renewed every year and if the tenant is shifting from one place to another it is the responsibility of the owner to cancel the Ejari before signing it with another person.
